I love exploring material culture so I was so happy to come across this tiny piece of the Bond Hill past from Discepoli Pharmacy: It's a matchbook cover! Located at Dale and Reading, you could ring up Discepoli Pharmacy at Melrose 1716 for local delivery that could probably rival Amazon Prime today. I don't know much about what happened to the chain, which was incorporated in 1946 but seemingly faded away less than four decades later. S kepticism did not stymie the Port's plans at the January 3rd Bond Hill Community Council (BHCC) Meeting. A new phase in the rebirth of the Bond Hill Business District has begun. After years of fitful demolition along Reading Road, some construction has commenced with the renovation of the long-vacant art deco storefront at 4928 Reading Road.
